Dude great tutorial i have a problem with the code
so i add new xml file and label it splash.xml like you said went to xml code but
it just shows
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
it doesnt show Linear Layout
.
…
..
< ..Layout./>
is this bad or should i just type in the missing code?
-
Yo .. I love these videos they are short and informative.
-
i think making a sound is kinda much harder than an image
-
isn't using a splash screen on Android a bad UX design? Android doesn't need it
-

-
I'm starting over. Going to try to get the older software if I can.

I have bought 2 android books and didn't understand a fking thing. I have learnt more in your first 11 videos than i have using books. Cheers!

You are the best! I looked for this everywhere and it didn't work! But yours did!
-
For some reason there's no errors, setup exactly the same way, and the app force closes in the emulator. Anyone else had this issue?
-
After I cleaned it, a bunch of errors appeared and everything in the graphical layout disappeared :S
Any suggestions? -
What's the use of raw folder and u didn't speak anything about the mp3 file that u gonna use as sound!!!!
-
anyone had idea? for new 4.4.2, there is no RAW such folder, where had it go?
-
I think you can do this by using objects too!!! But objects mean more space in the memory heap,so I will stick to this one!!!:)
-
My emulator is a black screen it shows all the buttons but nothing else shows.
-
Addictive…Best teaching ever !!!

Dude you rock!
-
i get this someone plz help
java.lang.NullPointerException
Exception details are logged in Window > Show View > Error Log
The following classes could not be found:
– LinearLayout (Change to android.widget.LinearLayout, Fix Build Path, Edit XML) -
thanks
-
I had the same error pop up and i noticed the LinearLayout line was closed before i typed in the "android:background…". So make sure you write that inside the greater than and less than signs
-
I'm getting an error. It seems to think that my .png background is a text file. I get a warning that says, "unexpected text found in layout file."
Any reason for that? -
Thanks! I was also trying to use the newest phone with API level of 18 I believe (14 or 18?) So I used the one thenewboston used in this tutorial and it's ok. Only problem now is for certain apps I want to make, it's not compatible with this setup he's using.
