I would just like to change the link of my header pic how do i do this?

  15. Derek Banas Avatar

Pretty much. Nicely designed pages are mostly HTML and css

  16. Johnny Le Avatar

so first code in html for the layout, then uss css to polish the html page, then use wordpress with php codes to make it more dynamic right?

  17. Johnny Le Avatar

ailright thanks DEREK banas, if i have any more questions i will come to you:)! keep up with your bussiness and vids.

  18. Derek Banas Avatar

You'll have to understand HTML and CSS. You'll also have to be comfortable enough with php to copy and paste. This is a very basic theme. I have other tutorials on more complicated ones

  19. Johnny Le Avatar

basically here are the steps to create my website… watch your tutorial on how to layout your website (strictly HTML) then watch creating a wordpress theme, then that's it?! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  20. Derek Banas Avatar

Yes it is just a web front end with a database. Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, etc are just huge databases when you get down to the basic 80+% of what they do

  21. Johnny Le Avatar

are wordpress themes suitable for social networking sites like the one i'm building?

  22. Johnny Le Avatar

my plan is to make as many people to use my site liek any other social network then as the site gets more popular, i can add ads to get some money from it.

  23. Derek Banas Avatar

Why not start by making a cool tool that utilizes a social network. People are always trying to get followers on Twitter. Why not make a website that helps them do that like Tweepi does? Why not turn it into a tablet friendly site? Unless you can afford to hire a bunch of $100,000 a year programmers you'll have to start it on your own. Maybe you have friends that know how to program? If you want to be an entrepreneur you have to learn how to organize a business & a game plan

  24. Johnny Le Avatar

so start small then end up big later on? becasue i want to be an entrepeneur not a programmer, i just need to make my social networking site, then hire employes to program more, you think that would be just fine, by making a prototype then get hits then start my company?

  25. Derek Banas Avatar

Facebook is a website designed by hundreds of programmers. You can't hope to make something that big. That is why I tell beginning programmers to forget about making Call of Duty for their first game. You have to start making baby steps. Actually Twitter and Reddit I've heard are terribly designed database wise. They are still popular though. Security and learning are your top priorities at this time. There are many extremely popular WP sites out there. Aim to make a fun site

  26. Johnny Le Avatar

DEREK one more question, if facebook was turned into a wordpress theme, would facebook today wuold still be the same if transformed?

  27. amine meziane Avatar

I'm sorry, but the pattern of your speech fluctuates sharply at the start of each sentence. Good tutorial though ๐Ÿ™‚

  30. Derek Banas Avatar

That's funny ๐Ÿ™‚ That is how I speak

  31. ezumach Avatar

I can't listen to this! Why the hell are you talking like that????

After watching your video on building a website, I saw you placed it into the header div. Question I have now is why would it not work right outside of the header div?
