This part is easy, but how about adding gaps in the darkness, where there are lights?

what if you have multiple images for Day, Sunset, twilight, night and morning. do you use all of them,, and program it to switch to another image?
also, what would I need to do to stop the time from going such as overworld mode, and during level selection?

    I have a problem:
when I am starting my game there is a spider in the room and it normaly would move, but it doesnt!
I think its blocked because of the object for the day/night.
I also have tried to make both objects non solid but it doesnt work ,too 🙁
The rest is working fine for me. Please help! 🙁

As far as I know, there is no way to make this work with his day/night system because the sprite covers the hole screen. This might help though:
Google "game maker community simple light 123Alvin"

How might someone create a flashlight to work with this day and night system? Is there anyway to make a sprite negate another sprites alpha?

I've been trying to find a tutorial on how to do lighting for my Top down zombie shooter. I want to make it look like I"ve got a mounted flashlight on my weapon, but I cant find shit. Just tutorials on a big circle of light that follows my character/mouse….. and that SO wont work lol.

Great tutorial. Now Im curious how i might be able to give my character a flashlight. Street lights.
