Never spread thermal paste. You're meant to put a pea of it on the middle of the CPU. Spreading it causes gaps between the heatsink and CPU (tiny air bubbles) and this causes the conduction from the heatsink to the CPU to be lost making it harder for your cpu to stay cool. When pressure is applied to the CPU when installig the heatsink the thermal paste spreads out evenly so don't spread.

i wasted 2000… now I can't build my computer because i cannot find out for the life of me how to open the thermal paste. 🙁
-
BUCKY I HOPE TERRIBLE THINGS HAPPEN TO YOU!!! You put WAAAAY too much thermal compound on that, and by following your instr. I just ruined a 144$ Cpu.. THANKS ALOT
-
That is a load of freaking thermal paste your applying there – 0:49
-
Are all CPU fans built to the same size scale? My current 3 year old CPU fan is fucked and I need a new one so I need this information. I have an intel CPU & Motherboard. What should I look for in a new fan? Thanks in advance.
-
Okay now can yo build the memory? 2:13
-
My manual says to apply it to the cpu heatsink
-
spreading the paste will cause air pockets. Just make an X with the paste and it should be good.
-
Damn that was a lot of paste. Why not apply it directly on the CPU and make the heatsink spread it for you? That will prevent air pockets.
-
wow. that was too much paste wasnt it??? or am i just stingy.??
-
That's cool, but how do you take it out? 🙂 I'm serious!
-
At no point do u gizz on a CPU heatsink?
-
Celcius is used in science and technology, F is only used in America for basic weather
-
Well you can simply convert that but normally we use Celcius for computer temps
-
My fan dissent work, think its faulty :/
-
I call it thermal resin.
-
@tominator923 It doesnt matter, I applyed to my heatsink and my temps are 30c and under,
-
the termal paste is way to much and it really bumpy
-
omg lmao fail at thermo paste, na really, thanks for teaching people this method, keeps my business running cause of overheating CPUS 😀
-
which cooler is it tell me plz!!!
-
You apply the thermal grease to the CPU and you don't spread it…
-
first time building a pc???? looks like it xD
-
wrong!!!!!!!you apply thermal paste to CPU not to radiator you will mess things up
-
Haha wow, this guys an amateur.
-
@dapro696 It can go on the CPU or the bottom of the fan. Either way, its coming into contact with the CPU and the fan
-
@lander77477 thnks!!!!!!!
-
@LNDS209615 Yes you can, you just have to take the cooler off, preferably after the computer has been on for awhile and you just turned it off so its nice and warm and it will come off easier, after that you just have to clean off all that paste, i use coffee filters because they are lint free and then you have to use 90% rubbing alcohol on those same coffee filters or cue-tips, and polish up the metal surfaces so they are ready to be used again like new
-
can you change the cpu after putting the coller???
-
Am I the only one who cant get this fucking heatsink on here?
-
I thought the paste goes on top of the cpu?
-
will the rubber band gets melted or something like that because of the heat?
-
LOL SO MUCH THERMAL PASTE
-
This is well helpful
-
good vid, but i think u need a little more paste
-
way to fucking much
-
prity beast fan
-
@lanman000
You only need to reapply if you're changing fans, and you should wipe off the old thermal paste before adding a new layer. -
1 You put WAY to much thermal compound
2 You dont have to spread it
3 You apply thermal compund to the cpu heat spreader not the heat sink
DUMMY nice tutorial:) -
who's this "bessy"?!?!
-
ya ppl know about how much past u put on there and the guy is right dont use white past besides a few taht jsut came out there will be some aritck silver 5 white past out soon but anyways this was probley jsut a demo anyways and he has the right idel why spend 20 buck just to show ppl how to build
-
@Dakashizzlenizzle
lol -
Well, too much thermal paste is just as bad as not using enough. White thermal paste? That kind of thermal paste drys up pretty quick. AS5 or equivalent works the best on cpus
-
this is where i had to stop because he never told me how to open the thermal paste
🙁 -
why is the thermal paste such a bad thing to put a lot on?
-
can i plug a 4 pin CPU fan into a 3 pin motherboard?
-
ahh now i know i realized that he dun wanna waste and throw away the grease
-
ahh now i know i realized that he dun wanna waste and throw away the grease

@BruceLeeRock25 So which of the two was it?
