NEVER catch an exception without printing the stack Trace! In case there is another exception throws, you won't notice it! If there is onky one Exception to catch, then catch this specific one!

Hi there, just a question about multi threading for web crawler in java, is it good to implement multi threading crawler that will crawl multiple web sites at the same time instead of single one, because i heard that multi threading is not always good. just let me from your understanding to multi threading will it be good to use it in such application. thanks

Hello +thenewboston
I'm new to programming with threads and Game-Programming. I did a few little test game projects for myself but didn't include much Threading in them.
My "Game" processing is split in update(tick) and frames. At first I had one loop in one thread looping through update (every 1/60 of a second) and frames (unlimited drawing per second/ as fast as the PC can handle it)
After watching a bunch of videos about Threads, like yours, I tried it out and used it in my test-game. I split update and frames in two different threads.
My first (main) thread handles keyboard input and frame-drawing, while my second thread handles update/tick.
This works quite well, but does it make sense? At first I thought it would be great if my frames-thread has problems this wouldn't affect my update-thread and vice versa.
But after thinking about it, my frames-thread doesn't have much to handle, which means he wouldn't be slower than my update-thread.
And when my update-thread is too slow, it (in theory) doesn't affect my frame-drawing, but after all see-able. Because when there are 250000fps and 20ups it will seem like ~20fps…Is there an other advantage about multi-threading update and fps or doesn't it make much sense in game-programming?

At 6:31, I think Bucky meant 'this' keyword. 'self' is python
