Derek, these tutorials have helped me more than the visual studios book has over the past 2 months. I watched your first visual studios tutorial and it just clicked. Keep up the good work. Thanks man!

Derek As someone who is only tech savvy on a retail level, ie virus removal, the first video helped me understand the basics very well, this video however seems to be going over my head with the math functions, as in the mindset of when youll need to use these. are there any other resources out there you would recommend to me (im going back to college next year, but in the meantime want to have a productive hobby in the field i want). or another field of IT that may be a little more simple for an uneducated guy like myself? i want to work into this but feel its beyond me at the moment, and im open to any ideas you may have (or anyone else for that matter). great videos by the way!

"For i As Integer = 0 To arrayEmployees.Length – 1", Um im wondering on that part why is that "-1" put on the last part of the code?

Very useful, perfect at 2.0x speed.
Full of content and doesn't make assumptions on the viewers' knowledge: it just starts from the beginning.

Fascinating. VB utilizes a few things from C# and seems so clean cut compared to verbose and boiler plate heavy language that is C#. I wish Microsoft continued development on VB as that would mean the simplification of coding. Mr. Banas, could you make a video on dependencies, IOC containers and specifically Nu-get packages. Basically, a higher level of utilization on web development for C#, the sort of things that would help streamline a process of development and the what you need to knows about tools for development.

You are Heaven sent Derek, I learned a lot from you! Could you do a tutorial about the ways how I can edit in and out of an MS Access datasheet? As well as saving, updating, deleting, moving forward and backward without relying on the data binding navigator (if it is possible). You see, I want to make a perfect borrowing / reservation / inventory / employee system. 🙂

Derek: As always, great material. But, in the "GetSumMore" Function, in the For Loop, are you sum the i variable or the Number(i) elements? If you test with GetSumMore(1,2,3,4) it works, but If you test with GetSumMore(1,3,5,7)?

Can you maybe think of homeworks (practice problems) to do to implement what we're learning in the videos. I struggle to think of ways to use it, but love to be challenged to use it.

  34. omgMamba Avatar

Hi, @ 13:30 I noticed a small error, If Option Stict is set to ON, which disallows implicit conversion from 'Double' to 'Decimal', you'll notice that 3123.14159, is a Double and not decimal, any reason why my compiler is setting it to a double ? or is it indeed a double.
