My ball, doesn't show the reflection. I followed everything that he said. Expand Map > Reflection > Flat Mirror > Uncheck Apply Blur > Uncheck Use Environmental Map > Apply to Faces with ID> Drag the material onto the plane > render…. in the render I see just the ball and not the plane or the ball reflection.

for those who use 3ds max 2016, go to material editor/ material browser/maps/ standard/ flat mirror

I can't apply the transparency map, I also don't have those parameter titles, blin and shader etc..

Evert hing was going well until I got to this and the previous tutorial. In 3ds max 2016, the material editor looks different.

in 3ds max 2015 the material window is completely different, and amond the list of maps I don't find anything related to mirrors, but ohwell

Hey,
Make sure you are using a basic material, not one of the fancy and complicated ones they provide. (I tried using Shellac and found everything he was talking about in that.)
