Thank you bucky!! -
I have no words to define your efforts and work bucky
I want to say thanks… -
go watch my ''free'' javascript tutorials.Do you have pay to watch tutorials for advanced users? I would check them out.
-
did you say VCR? What's a VCR? hehe j/k

If you don't use "var" and if you have a variable named "barSize" outside the function then it's value will be overridden and set to 600.
So using and not using "var" would depend on what you're trying to achieve with your code.
-
o dont forget to set the name for each var (var name = "Whatever")
-
var stands for variable theres two kinds one is an integer(numbers) and strings(letters or words) for strings do var = "String";, integer var = 5;
-
can you explain,,,,,,, how to make live streaming video on HTML 5?
-
how about a closing thing for the source-tag ? ;-(
-
For those of you requesting youtube vids. Google a website called "keepvid". Enter your youtube URL into the bar at the top and click download, download it as a "webm" file as mp4 is no longer supported. This will save the file to your computer.
-
thank you 😉
-
Just use jQuery. The Javascript is just awful.
-
It should be an ".mp4"
Search for sample .mp4 video on the internet. Youtube will not work. -
any one here know how to put youtube url in source?i did put the entire url in source there, but it cannot work.
-
whats a VCR? XD
-
its been so long since ive used javascript i normally use coffeescript
-
if you use an init function with onload, you don't have to use getElementById, you can just put the id (e.g. mydiv instead of document.getElementById('mydiv'), if two elements have the same id, then call the first with mydiv[0] and the second with mydiv[1])
I don't know who else knows this, but it saves an unbelievable amount of writing
Works in every browser I've tested :/
-
var, when used in a function essentially makes it private, in that it is deleted after the function is done running, if you don't put it, it can be referenced outside of the function.
-
Im too lazy to go watch all you javaScript tutorials, so im just gonna keep watching your videos..
-

Ahh, I remember in his Java tutorials he always forgot to add the extra 'e' in listener 🙂
-
@CoolDutchProductions It does now.

@Bassdoken1 If you're writing markup, you're coding, aka, scripting. There's no way around it, when writing HTML at all, you both write markup And code. You can use both of the terms, yet "to code" is more international.
-
@kidel3 Coding implies that you're writing code. HTML is markup, its in its name. Its not a coding language, it's a markup language (again, in the name).
I've already learned from multiple sources, and a couple of books about HTML. If I asked my teacher (who has been a web developer for 10+ years) if you're coding when writing HTML, he would say no, it's markup.
-
@Bassdoken1 I could make tons of professional web developers prove you wrong, so just stop it.
-
@kidel3 It's not coding, it's writing mark up. There is 0 logical operations that you have to think of, just formalizing the page.
-
@Bassdoken1 HTML is a markup Language (don't get that wrong). You're coding, also said as writing in a "coding language", not as to use the reference "writing a markup". Learn from scratch and learn early, read some books, you'll get to understand it sometime.
-
@kidel3 Err, HTML is markup. You're writing markup. Not scripting. Not code. Not programming.
-
@kidel3 I'm happy for you, mate
-
@Colaglass I'm also working in 3 companies (real companies, no bullshit here) where 2 of those are based on web developing, aka, making websites (webwares – web applications) based on the clients wish. I'm not a stupid little boy that steals source code or need to learn from visual videos, I learned the way everybody does, with books and the websites where everything originated From (aka, W3). Go bitch about other complete newbs somewhere else, I'm not one of those, I just cleared out facts.
-
@Colaglass To clear this up; no, I haven't watched a full episode from thenewboston, and I started with web development in 2001. The first websites I used to learn from was W3, W3Schools and Tizag. The last thing you say is that I'm a noob coming over to YouTube to look at tutorials on how to do stuff like this. I didn't even know he had playlists, I just subscribed because of all his other stuff he has uploaded that my friends has found useful (not web related). Know who you're talking to.
-
@kidel3 You're one of the people who have been watching thenewboston for about 3 different playlists, and call yourself a web developer. I think you should not talk over your head here, mate.
-
@Colaglass I don't assume so as you disagreed with me without even knowing the difference. Become a web developer and not a hipster within it, then you'll get to know differences in this world.
-
@kidel3 I don't know shit, eh?
-
@Colaglass It is, don't come here and try to prove me wrong, you don't know shit about the difference between a "programming language" and a "coding language", and to "script" something is the Exact same as to "code" something, where "to script" came from the meaning of writing a "manu- script", now stop denying me and face the truth.
-
@kidel3 No.
-
@noideayo Coding and scripting is the exact same thing, so yes, you're right.
-
@kidel3 scripting
-
HTML ain't programming, that's coding.
-
bucky: 1:21 please please please.. go watch my free javascript tutorial in that is gonna be up to speed on all the programming of javascript…
me: PLEASE!!!! Complete the javascript tutorial!!!! -
"fucntion" lol!
-
@RemysWebpageMaker It is document.getElementById() actually, and yes it is better to prefix/declare variables with the var keyword, because then they are not global. global variables should be avoided.
-
lol vcr player!!! nah i use an overhead projector and print every second of the movie and keep changing it
