What is the purpose of extending a class when you can just include that class on the element in your html?

I find the way CSS handles this to be way more Logical to be honest.
What is this cobbling? and how does this serve any developer much less designers? I mean after all, you still had to create three different .Classes didn't you?

Well you could've just gave your element both classes: .panel (which has all the generic stuff) and then .little-panel (which has just the stuff that is specific to little panels). That's how it is done usually without SASS.
